When are the IMS rugby fixtures/training starting?
IMS rugby practice trials will either be during Fresher's
week or will be just after. The season starts quite soon in October I believe.
Add 'Leg Leg Leggey'
on facebook and ask him. He's our Rugby chairman of the hall and will know more.

What kind of stuff do you need to bring, like in the kitchen what is provided?
And is it 1 shower per 8 people! Sounds... interesting
What is provided is a microwave, oven, kettle, toaster
and fridge and freezers. You need to bring your own pots and pans and cooking and
eating implements.
The shower is 1 between 8 and there are two toilets between 8. However Falk-Egg
showers are by far the best on campus, they're soo powerful!

Is the hall Internet free and what is the fair usage policy like of the internet,
how restricted is it and how fast are download speeds and is it wireless?
Falk-Egg is connected to Hallnet and as such we get amazing connection speed averaging about 8 Mbps (8 megabit or 1 Megabyte per second) for free. Acceptable Use policy can be found here basically you can use it for anything legal, decent and inoffensive, so peer to peer file sharing is not allowed. They do check during the day using a port scanner to see what you are doing, if your caught you will have your connection blocked. Basically if it is going to affect other peoples connection they will stop you but they will give you warning first. Standard connection is not wireless in halls however you can provide your own wireless access point to connect in halls as long as it has WPA encryption and is only used by you.

How many shelves do you get in fridge / freezers?
Works out that you usually get one shelf in the fridge, and half a shelf in the freezer, so its worth being considerate when getting your first lot of shopping in and not stocking up three months worth of frozen food.

Is playing loud music an issue in falk egg?
It can be an issue, but if you're considerate towards your flat mates and neighbours it shouldn't be a problem. There is a policy about noise though and usually its to try and keep things quiet after half 10/11pm at night really as people have work to do, lectures first thing in the morning etc. In all of the flats I've been in over the years, if one of us has been playing loud music and its disturbing someone, somebody just asks politely to turn down and people agree without fuss.

How much am I gunna spend in fresher's week?
Fresher's week while being highly subsidised is expensive, if an average night out in a town and city is £30-40 you will have the same amount most nights for about £15-20 (student prices) but for fresher's week you could be out every night for two weeks so it could be between £200 and £300. Try and find out which nights are cheaper (Hey Ewe on the Wednesday is great for cheap drinks £1.50 for any drink!)

How much space is there in the room for storage?
In your room you get 2 draws (about 1 meter wide) and two cupboards with more storage in them, you also get draws under your bed, so storage isn't a problem. (Different rooms have different things in them)
