Hi, I‘m Andy Harland, warden of Falkner-Eggington Hall. 'Falk-Egg' (as it is affectionately known) is a vibrant hall of  residence situated to the South East of the campus. Falk-Egg comprises of 73 residential flats for 8 people and forms the largest self-catered hall within the university.  Falk-Egg prides itself on its diverse mix of cultures, all of which help make Falk Egg one of the most popular and vibrant Halls on campus. I look forward to getting to know you sometime soon at one of our social or sports events.

I live in the Warden‘s house at the edge of Hall (through the gate behind orange quad!) with my wife, Lynn and daughters Olivia and Isabel. I am available at all times by phone or e-mail if you need to get in touch, or if you want to pop round, please feel free. Loughborough University prides itself on its caring attitude to all students and the support network it gives them. As part of that network, my main role is to provide guidance and advice both to the Hall as a whole and to individual students.

This can be of a very straightforward and practical nature or it may be something more personal. We all hope you have a great time here from Day One. However, coming to University is a huge change in lifestyle for many people and some of you will take a little while to settle in. I encourage you to get involved in Hall life, talkto people, take advantage of the social events that the Committee organises, play (or support!) Hall sports, raise money for RAG and even think about joining in the running of the Hall… as well as studying hard for your degree, of course. However, if you feel homesick, lonely or unhappy, if work or housemates are getting you down, please contact your Warden or any Sub-Warden. We won‘t be able to solve all problems but we can promise a sympathetic ear. We have all been students ourselves and have all been trained to assist with many of the issues you are likely to encounter.  All matters are treated with confidentiality and discretion. Don‘t sit in your room. Come and talk to us!
