Sport is a big part of the loughborough experience for many students and all the halls compete in an intramural sport competition.

Sport in falk egg is massive, it brings everyone together, on and off the pitch, court or whatever we’re playing on. The reigning IMS football champions, who are top of this year’s league are arguably the best supported team in the hall with many going on to or have represented the university at a top level. But this is only scratching the surface of the IMS calendar.....

Boys:

Weekly fixtures in rugby, basketball, squash, hockey, volleyball, tennis and badminton, with the latter three being joint with the girls mean that there is ALWAYS an opportunity to play sport. But don’t worry if you don’t see your favorite sport above, there is also a great selection of yearly events which include; athletics, darts, golf, indoor hockey, pool, rugby 7s, swimming, table tennis and everybody’s favorite, water polo. Each team trains once a week with mass practice during freshers to show us what you’ve got so it’s really easy to get involved. The rugby team holds a social every Sunday which allows people to get to know each other in a friendly environment with the football team holding one or two every term.
As you might already know, if you play sport for the university you won’t be allowed to represent your hall in that event, but there are two ways for you to get involved..... Step 1, play a different sport, if you represent the university at basketball, you can still play football or tennis for the hall. Step 2 is far more exciting.................. OLD BOYS!!!!! Old boys comes around once a year just after the Easter break which gives all the lads time to prepare their bodies in the gym and under the sun (or spraytan). Past falk eggers play the current crop in football and rugby in what can be regarded one of your most memorable weekends at Loughborough.

Falk-Egg also organizes an ‘old boys and girls’ weekend which no other hall on campus does. The alumni come back to the Uni to play against the current students, this year the girls are going to play tag rugby and netball. Although there is a lot of alcohol involved, the games will be very competitive and hopefully the current students will come out on top!
